Fluid Pump: Service and Repair
NOTE: For oil pump body removal and installation procedures, refer to "Transfer Case Component Parts Replacement."
OIL PUMP BODY DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove screw plug, spring and ball.
a. Using a hexagon wrench (6 mm), remove the screw plug.
Torque: 17 N.m (13 ft. lbs.)
b. Using a magnetic finger, remove the spring and ball.
ASSEMBLY HINT: After installing the ball and spring, apply liquid sealer to the plug threads. Sealant: Part No.08833 - 00080, THREE
BOND 1344, LOCTITE 242 or equivalent
2. Remove oil pump cover.
Using a torx socket wrench (T30), remove the 5 screws and oil pump cover.
Torque: 7.8 N.m (69 inch lbs.)
