EGR Cooler: Service and Repair
Removal

2ZR-FXE EMISSION CONTROL: EGR COOLER: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly    See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Front Wiper

Motor/Removal.

2. REMOVE COWL BODY MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT LH   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Power Brake Assist/Vacuum Brake

Booster/Service and Repair/Removal

3. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Brakes and Traction Control/Power Brake Assist/Vacuum Brake

Booster/Service and Repair/Removal

4. DRAIN COOLANT (for Engine)   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair/Coolant (For Engine)

5. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal

7. REMOVE INLET AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal

8. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE   See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal

9. REMOVE EGR PIPE ASSEMBLY   See: EGR Valve/Service and Repair/Removal

10. REMOVE EGR COOLER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector, wire harness clamp and 4 water hoses.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts and bolt.

(c) Using an E8 "TORX" wrench, remove the 4 stud bolts and EGR valve with cooler assembly.

(d) Remove the gasket.

(e) Remove the 2 nuts, EGR cooler sub-assembly and gasket.
