Dashpot: Testing and Inspection
Inspection
1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Check idle speed and adjust if necessary.
Idle speed: 800 ( ± 50 rpm)
3. Remove cap, filter and separator from Dash Pot.
4. Check and adjust Dash Pot setting speed.

Maintain engine speed at 2,500 rpm or more.

Plug the Vacuum Transmitting Valve (VTV) hole with your finger.
^
Release the throttle valve.
^
Check the Dash Pot is set.
Dash Pot setting speed: 2,000 ( ± 200) rpm
