Seat Occupant Sensor: Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool

DTC CHECK

HINT:

-

When DTC B1650/23 is detected as a result of troubleshooting the airbag system, troubleshoot the occupant classification system.

Use the intelligent tester to read and clear DTCs, otherwise the DTCs cannot be read and cleared.

a. Check for DTCs.

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Check for DTCs by given the prompts on the tester screen.

HINT:  When checking the DTCs of the occupant classification ECU, select the OCCUPANT DETECT on the tester screen.

Without Scan Tool

TOYOTA does not provide a procedure for Reading Trouble Codes Without Scan Tool.

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool

Clear the DTCs

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Clear the DTCs by following the prompts on the tester screen.

HINT:  When clearing the DTCs of the occupant classification ECU, select the OCCUPANT DETECT on the tester screen.

Without Scan Tool

TOYOTA does not provide a procedure for Clearing Trouble Codes Without Scan Tool.

With Manufacturer's Scan Tool
