Seal Ring - Crankshaft Front, Replace > < Bypass Valve, Replace

Oil Pan (Single-Part), Remove and Install  

Object Number: 616191 Size: DEFAULT  Remove, Disconnect   

Open oil drain bolt - place collecting basin underneath.  

Remove flywheel cover plate.  

For X 17 DTL: Remove oil return line (1) from oil pan.  

Remove oil pan from oil pump and cylinder block.  

Object Number: 616195 Size: DEFAULT  Clean   

Clean sealing surfaces and remove gasket residue.  

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Object Number: 2393694 Size: DEFAULT

Apply a bead of adhesive sealing compound (black) to joints (arrows) of oil pump and rear crankshaft bearing cap. Attach oil pan with new gasket to oil pump and cylinder block - tightening torque 8 Nm/ 6 lbf. ft. 1) 
  

Object Number: 2386691 Size: DEFAULT

1)  Regroove thread before reuse and insert with screw lock (red). Maximum installation time including torque check: ten minutes.  

 

 

Object Number: 616192 Size: DEFAULT  Install, Connect   

Attach flywheel cover plate to transmission.  

For X 17 DTL: Attach oil return line with new seal rings to oil pan - 45 Nm/33 lbf. ft.  

Attach oil drain bolt to oil pan with new seal ring - tightening torque 45 Nm/ 33 lbf. ft.  

Fill engine oil up to "MAX" at dipstick.
