Valve Stem Clearance, Check  

  Measure   

Measure inner diameter of valve guide with Dial Gauge MKM-571-B and internal micrometer.   Measure the outer diameter of the valve stem with a micrometer.   Determine the difference between the outer diameter of the valve stem and the inner diameter of the valve guide.     Inspect    Example:     Inner diameter of valve guide:   6.012 mm   Outer diameter of valve stem:   - 5.972 mm   gives a valve stem clearance of:   0.040 mm     Perm. valve stem clearance:   intake: 0.030 up to/to 0.057 mm     exhaust: 0.040 up to/to 0.067 mm
