Fluid Pump, Multi-disc Brakes B1 and B2, Overhaul Overhauling of the fluid pump is not required, as individual parts are not available from suppliers. The fluid pump should therefore only be disassembled and reassembled for cleaning.
Inspect Easy turning of fluid pump drive gear - insert KM-704 in spline of fluid pump shaft and turn in both directions. |

Function of multi-disc brake B1. Blow in compressed air (4 bar, arrow 2). Piston must move smoothly and actuate the inner lining plates. Function of multi-disc brake B2. Blow in compressed air (4 bar, arrow 1). Piston must move smoothly and actuate the outer lining plates. |

Disassemble Multi-disc brake B1. Remove retaining ring (1) with screwdriver, brake flange (2) and clutch discs. |

Spring plate (1) from housing - compress under press with KM-699 (2), remove retaining ring with retaining ring pliers. |

Remove, Disconnect Piston for free wheel clutch F1 (1) - blow in low pressure compressed air (arrow), if necessary assist with pliers, replace rubber O-rings (2).
Inspect Sliding surfaces of lining plates for wear - if necessary, replace. Before installing, lay new lining plates at least 2 hours in transmission fluid. |

Disassemble Disassemble multi-disc brake B2: Remove retaining ring (1) with screwdriver. Remove 1 brake flange (2). Remove lining plates (3) and steel plates - exact number see "Technical Data", section "Parts List". Remove 1 brake flange (not all transmissions) and return spring assembly (4). |

Remove, Disconnect Piston for multi-disc brake B2 (1) - blow in low pressure compressed air (arrow), if necessary assist with pliers, replace seal rings (2).
Inspect Sleeve in pump housing for damage and/or wear, if necessary replace complete fluid pump. Both sides of plate for scoring and wear, if necessary replace complete fluid pump.
Remove, Disconnect Fluid seal ring from pump housing - use screwdriver, do not damage seat in housing.
Assemble Fluid pump. Drive in new fluid seal ring drive flush up to housing upper edge with KM-674 (3). |

Assemble Multi-disc brake B2. Insert multi-disc brake piston B2 with new rubber O-ring seals in stator shaft (spring mounts face upwards). Place return spring assembly (4) on piston. Insert 1 brake flange (not all transmissions). Insert alternating steel laminations and lining laminations - with AF 20 each 3 off (3). Insert steel laminations first, flange (2) last (chamfered side facing lining). Fit snap ring (1). |

Assemble Multi-disc brake B1. Insert piston for free wheel clutch F1 in stator shaft with new rubber O-rings (spring mounts face upwards). Insert spring plate (1) - compress with KM-699 (2) under press, fit retaining ring with retaining ring pliers. Install steel plates and lining plates alternately, steel plates first, steel flange last (rounded side faces lining). Fit retaining ring - screwdriver. |

Measure Piston stroke of multi-disc brake B2 - with dial gauge. Low pressure air (4 bar, arrow 1). Set probe on top of lining plate. Measurement: 1.14 to 1.68 mm/ 0.04 in. to 0.07 in. Piston stroke of multi-disc brake B1 - with dial gauge. Low pressure air (4 bar, arrow 2). Set probe on top lining plate.
