Steering Gear, Seal - Power Steering  

  Remove, Disconnect   

For vehicles with right-hand drive: Remove the steering gear - see operation "Steering gear Remove and Install (Vehicles with Right-hand Drive)" For all vehicles: Release all piping as well as pressure and return lines from the steering gear.     Clean    Clean sealing surfaces and lines.     Important!    Always renew seal rings. Sealing operations are to be carried out with extreme care.

  Install, Connect   

Right-hand drive vehicles: Bolt pipe lines to the steering gear - tightening torque 28 Nm/20.5 lbf. ft. Neither of the pipe lines may lie on the folding covers.   Bolt the pressure and return lines to the steering gear - tightening torque 28 Nm/20.5 lbf. ft.   For vehicles with right-hand drive: Remove the steering gear - see operation "Steering gear Remove and Install (Vehicles with Right-hand Drive)".   All vehicles: Charge and bleed the hydraulic system - see operation "Hydraulic System, Charge and Bleed".
