Abbreviations, Definitions > < Diagnosis with TECH 1

TECH 1, connect to vehicle

 

Before connecting the unit, observe the information in the TECH 1 operating instructions:

 

·     Ignition OFF

·     Connect TECH 1 to diagnostic plug in passenger compartment (fuse box)

 

Important:

When the anti-theft warning system is armed, it is not possible to establish communication between TECH 1 and the control unit. TECH 1 reports an ALDL fault.

 

Select anti-theft warning system on TECH 1 as follows:

Confirm with ENTER.

            APPLICATIONS

          F0:OPEL/VAUXHALL

           F1:PONTIAC APV

Confirm with F0 key.

            OPEL/VAUXHALL

              87-95 ECU

 

                (YES)

Confirm with YES key.

            OPEL/VAUXHALL

              87-95 ECU

               SELECT

           MODEL YEAR:19??

Enter Model Year, e.g.: 95.

            SELECT MODEL:

               CORSA?

           MODEL YEAR:1995

              (YES/NO)

For Corsa confirm with YES key,

 

otherwise press NO key until desired model appears.

 

Then confirm with YES key.

             STOP ENGINE

          TURN ON IGNITION

                (YES)

Confirm with YES key.

               SELECT

              INSTALLED

               ENGINE?

              (YES/NO)

Press NO key until following image appears:

               SELECT

             ELECTRONIC

            BODY SYSTEM?

              (YES/NO)

Confirm with YES key.

            SELECT BY YES

           * ANTI THEFT W.

             AIRBAG SDM

           IMMOBILISATION

Using arrow keys select ANTI THEFT W.

and confirm with YES key.

               COMPARE

               PART-NO

          XXXXXXXX XX WITH

          CHART 3 (YES/NO)

Compare part number with Table 3 (section 4.6.3) and confirm with YES key.

          ANTI THEFT WARN.

          NO TROUBLE CODES

Confirm with YES key;

if trouble codes are stored, first make a note of them.

          ANTI THEFT WARN.

           NO ALARM CODES

Confirm with YES key;

if alarm codes are stored, first make a note

of them.

                                 SELECT MODE

             F0:DATA LIST

             F1:NOT USED

             F2:TROUBLE CODE

             F3:SNAPSHOT

             F4:CLEAR CODES

             F5:ACTUATOR TEST

             F6:NOT USED

             F7:PROGRAMMING

The contents of the MODE menu take up more than one page of the TECH 1 display. The desired area can be displayed on the screen using the arrow keys.

Select the desired menu item with the relevant F-key.
