When the radio is switched on, it automatically carries out a self-test. In this self-test, the radio unit sends certain signals via the radio display bus. The DID evaluates these signals.
If a fault is determined during the self-test, it is stored as a trouble code in the DID and is displayed instead of the radio display.
Stored trouble codes are deleted when the radio is switched off.
Note: It is not possible to communicate with the DID using TECH 1.
Important: During operations where there is a risk of an electrical short circuit, disconnect the ground cable from the vehicle battery.
