Immobiliser with Transponder

 

During Model Year 1995, an electronic immobiliser with transponder actuation is being gradually introduced for all models. The immobiliser prevents unauthorised starting of the vehicle and is therefore an effective protection against theft.

 

 

The immobiliser with transponder in conjunction with the engine control unit can be checked with TECH 1 and operates independently of the central locking/anti-theft warning system.

 

 

With the introduction of the immobiliser with transponder, the cover on the ignition lock is being changed. The previous letter "B" (2) is replaced by a white dot (1).

 

 

Note:

 

The ignition lock cover is also changed in other vehicles

without the immobiliser.
