Checking with Diagnostic Switch KM-640

The diagnosis modes, programming and setting of the Multi-Info-Display can be activated analogously to the procedure for the Board Computer BC 2400 (see Checking Procedures "Board Computer, Vectra/Cavalier, Omega/Carlton, Senator-B" dated December 1989). Instead of the keys and contacts used for the board computer, however, other Multi-Info-Display controls must be used for actuation of the same functions. The following table gives a survey of the modified key allocations.

BC 2400

Function key "S"

Start key "R"

It may be possible that only diagnosis mode 1 and mode 5 can be selected when checking with KM-640. This is not a Multi-Info-Display malfunction; modes 2 to 4 in earlier Multi-Info-Display versions cannot be activated due to lack of memory space.

Activated modes can be cancelled by removing the diagnostic switch from the vehicle diagnostic plug.
