Transmission Shift Linkage

All engines with manual transmission employ a shift link with shift guidance.

As in the Vectra-B and Sintra, the shift guide is installed on a link (1) mounted in damping bushings on the transmission and front axle body.

The most significant benefits are:

•  Gear jumping is eliminated

•  Gearshift lever vibration is reduced

•  Shift accuracy is improved

•  Shift comfort is improved

•  Noise insulation is improved (acoustic decoupling)

Adjustment of transmission shift linkage

The transmission shift linkage is adjusted by means of a pin, a fixed installation in the shift cover. In the F 13 and F 17 transmissions, the pin is in front of the shift cover; in the F 18 transmission, it is behind the shift cover.
