Check folding roof is sealed - L67
Important:
Operation to be carried out only by certified service
operators.
Note: To check for
leaks, two mechanics are needed. One sprays 10 liters/min water
over the roof with a hose (without a spray head) while the other
sits in the vehicle and searches for water ingress with a
torch.

Defect seals are to be replaced! The Service Department
conducts all illustrated weatherstrips in the delivery program.

Preparations for checking for leaks
• |
Place front backrests of driver's seat and passenger seat as
far back as possible
|

Lay cartons over the floor covering in the interior and luggage
compartment
|

Close luggage compartment lid
|

Checking for leaks in oblique position
Note: Check for leaks
in the oblique position in ± 11° on the Y-axis, in
± 6° in the X-axis and in combination with both oblique
positions. The positions are relaised by placing the appropriately
sized blocks under each wheel.

Performing the check for leaks
Note: The use of high
pressure devices in not allowed.

So that water ingress can be found as quickly as possible,
water should run over from the center of the roof.
The second mechanic is located in the interior of the vehicle and
searches for leaks with a torch.
With assembly errors with weatherstrips, the error is to be
corrected and the check for leaks carried out or repeated.
The second stage is to spray the vehicle from the side with a hose!
The spray head is to be pointed approx. 50 cm away and at right
angles to the vehicle on both sides.
Note: Do not spray the
weatherstrip from below.
