Rapid measuring method

Mechanical measurement of points on the body that are relevant to the roof dimensions

Important:   The vehicle must be ready to drive and be standing with its wheels on a flat surface (the measuring surface)

  • Completely remove the inner panelling from the front side panels on both sides
  • Remove the roof frame panelling LUREF_1.gif
  • Fully open the folding roof

  • Install tool BO-47654 on the roof frame at the front left
    • Unscrew bolt (1)
    • Fasten the ball-head bolt BO-47654-3 (2)
  • Install tool BO-47654 on the roof frame at the front right
    • Unscrew bolt
    • Fasten the ball-head bolt BO-47654-3

  • Install tool BO-47654 at the rear left
    • Detach the rubber cap
    • Unscrew bolt (1)
    • Tighten the screw that is there BO-47654-2
    • Tighten the ball head BO-47654-1 (2)
  • Install tool BO-47654 at the rear right
    • Detach the rubber cap
    • Unscrew bolt
    • Tighten the screw that is there BO-47654-2
    • Tighten the ball head BO-47654-1

  Measure

Important:   If a dimension is outside the permitted tolerance, further work must only be done by a certified repair shop/dealer.

  • Measure the diagonal from front left to rear right
    • Use the body measuring rod MKM-642-A with the pointer from BO-47654-4 and take the measurement (target value: 1522.5 mm +/- 2.5 mm )
  • Measure the diagonal from front right to rear left
    • Use the body measuring rod MKM-642-A with the pointer from BO-47654-4 and take the measurement (target value: 1522.5 mm +/- 2.5 mm )

Important:   If a dimension is outside the permitted tolerance, further work must only be done by a certified repair shop/dealer.

  • Measure the length - left side
    • Use the body measuring rod MKM-642-A with the pointer from BO-47654-4 and take the measurement (target value: 1226.5 mm +/- 2.5 mm )
  • Measure the length - right side
    • Use the body measuring rod MKM-642-A with the pointer from BO-47654-4 and take the measurement (target value: 1226.5 mm +/- 2.5 mm )
  • Remove the tool from rear right
    • Remove BO-47654-1
    • Unscrew bolt BO-47654-2
    • Tighten the original bolt
    • Attach the rubber cap
  • Remove the tool from rear left
    • Remove BO-47654-1
    • Unscrew bolt BO-47654-2
    • Tighten the original bolt
    • Attach the rubber cap
  • Remove tool BO-47654 from the front right of the roof frame
    • Detach the ball-head bolt BO-47654-3
    • Tighten bolt
  • Remove tool BO-47654 from the front left pf the roof frame
    • Detach the ball-head bolt BO-47654-3
    • Tighten bolt
  • Replace the roof frame panelling LUREF_1.gif
  • Install the inner panelling for the front side panels on both sides
  • Fully close the folding roof
