Subject: Engine Z16/18XE1/P/R, thermostat - Mil on, trouble code P0115 is stored
Models: Engines: Option:
Astra-H 2004...2010,Vectra-C 2006...2008 Z16XEP| Z16XE1| Z16XER,Z16XEP| Z18XER
Complaint: Mil on, trouble code P0115 is stored.
Cause: Different causes are possible, see also TIS instruction.
Production:

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint, check the coolant temperature with the
Tech 2. If the coolant temperature doesn’t reach approx. 103°C it
could be that the thermostat is stuck in the open position and has to
be exchanged.


For Astra-H Z16XEP/XE1 and Vectra-C Z16XEP, radiator coolant 
temperature and the engine coolant temperature should be compared.
If the radiator coolant temperature rises before the mentioned 
temperature 103°C was reached the thermostat has to be exchanged.
