Intermittent malfunction of the Horn. |
| Cause: |
High resistance due to high vibrations on
electrical contacts or widened contacts causing a loose internal
connection in the Column Integrated Module (CIM). |
| Production: |
Only vehicles within following scope are
affected: Astra H - Antwerp from 4 5 000003 to A 5 064482 Astra H -
Ellesmere Port from 4 8 000024 to B 8 000880 Astra H - Bochum from
5 2 000001 to A 2 135500 Astra H - Gliwice from 8 G 000001 to A G
129198 Zafira B - Bochum from 5 2 015829 to A 2 135498 Zafira B -

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint please see Customer Satisfaction Program
10-R-036 "Astra H, Zafira B - Column Integrated Module (CIM)".
If Customer Satisfaction Program 10-R-036 has already been carried out
but horn still does not operate the CIM has to be replaced.
Check production date of CIM (see picture I):
Important:
Use only a new CIM with a production date 01.07.2010 or later.
Replace CIM and wiring harness for horn/infotainment (steering
wheel) - Astra H:

Note:
Only on steering wheel of supplier Takata Petri (see picture II)
the wiring harness for horn/infotainment (steering wheel) has to
be replaced.
