Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result. Use care in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as sharp tools may damage the gasket surfaces.

1. Open the hood.
2. Unclip the electronic control module bracket and move the engine control module to one side.

3. Disconnect the charge air cooler outlet air hose (2) from the throttle body (1) and hang aside.

4. Disconnect the throttle body wiring harness plug (1) from the throttle body (2).

5. Remove the 4 throttle body bolts (4) from the intake manifold (1).
6. Remove the throttle body (3) and discard the throttle body sealing (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install a NEW throttle body sealing (2).
2. Install the throttle body (3) to the intake manifold (1).

Caution: Fastener Caution .
3. Install the 4 throttle body bolts (4) and tighten to 9 N·m (80 lb in) .

4. Connect the throttle body wiring harness plug (1) to the throttle body (2).

5. Connect the charge air cooler outlet air hose (2) to the throttle body (1).
6. Install the electronic control module bracket.
7. After the replacement of throttle body, use a scan tool to perform the appropriate reset function. Refer to Engine Control Module Programming and Setup .
8. Close the hood.
