Charge Air Cooler Inlet Air Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
3. Remove the air cleaner outlet rear duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement .
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
5. Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .

6. Remove the 2 charge air cooler inlet air hose bolt (3).
7. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose (4) from the turbocharger (1).
8. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose gasket (2).

9. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose (3, 5) from the charge air cooler (1).
  9.1 To get a better access, loosen the clamp (4) and separate the charge air cooler hose (5) from the bend (3).
  9.2 Loosen the clamp (2) and remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose bend (3) from charge air cooler (1).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the charge air cooler air inlet hose (3, 5) to the charge air cooler (1) and fasten clamp (2).
  1.1 Install the charge air cooler inlet air hose bend (3) to the charge air cooler (1).
  1.2 Install and reposition the charge air cooler inlet air hose (5) to the bend (3).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  1.3 Reposition and tighten the charge air cooler clamp (4).

2. Install a NEW charge air cooler inlet air hose gasket (2).
3. Install the charge air cooler inlet air hose (4) to the turbocharger (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 lb ft) .
4. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
5. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
6. Install the air cleaner outlet rear duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Rear Duct Replacement .
7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
8. Close the hood.
