Both Sill Panel Frames, Replace

Model 43-B

Remove

Remove attaching parts (front seat, floor covering).

Cut sill panel open only in area of frame.

Cut out outer frame.

Cutting lines:

A1  Frame, outer (approx. 100 mm/3.9 in. from quarter panel joint)

A2  Frame, outer (approx. 940 mm/37.0 in. from quarter panel joint)

B    Frame, inner

X  =   Rear quarter panel joint

Mark out cutting lines on inner frame.

Cutting lines:

1   (approx. 150 mm/5.9 in. from quarter panel joint)

2   (approx. 890 mm/35.0 in. from quarter panel joint)

X  =   Rear quarter panel joint

Drill inner frame from connecting parts.

1   Sill panel reinforcement

2   Seat strut reinforcement

3   Floor panel

Separate floor panel at cutting line height of approx. 50 mm/2 in.

Cut out inner frames.

Prepare welding flange.

Install

Cut out new parts from replacement parts.

1   =   Frame, outer (new part length approx. 840 mm/33.1 in.)

2   =   Frame, inner (new part length approx. 740 mm/29.1 in.)

Remove PVC underbody protection in area of floor cutting line.

Fit new parts.

Apply welding paint.

Weld in frame.

Weld floor panel together.

Note dimensions from body dimension chart.

Weld reinforcement.

Weld in sill panel.

Seal weld seams.

Spray hollow spaces with wax.

Apply underseal to underside and floor panel.

Keep PVC underbody protection free of bituminous substances.
