Rear Quarter Window (Cemented), Tailgate Screen (Cemented) and Windscreen, Re-Seal

 

Re-sealing operations can be carried out with the window/screen cemented in.

To do this, pull out (cut out) screen trim strips from body frame.

 

Clean frame.

Apply 3 mm/0.12 in. Æ cement bead to edge of glass.

 

Cut application nozzle accordingly.

 

 

Press low-profile trim strip into body frame.

Trim strip sealing lip must fit snugly against glass and body surfaces.

 

After assembly, only the tip of the profile is closed by the Cement (15 04 856 - 90 273 761).

The remaining area is free of cement.

 

A - trim strip profile specially for re-sealing.

Area "X" re-sealed.

Cement is hardened by air humidity.

 

On Models 39, 49, it is not possible to re-seal rear screen using polyurethane cement (new shortened profile not available).
