Replace

Remove
Remove lock cylinder of
tailgate, handle of tailgate and licence plate - see corresponding operation.
Heat rear panel foil overlap
area at tailgate to approx. 50 °C/122 °F.

Pull off foil at angle shown
while uniformly heated.
|
|
Install
Cementing area must be dry,
clean and free from grease and oil (use only cleaning fluids not harmful to
paint)
|
|
Pull off protective paper
from adhesive surface of rear panel foil.
Moisten adhesive surface in
area left and right of licence plate well.
Fix upper edge of foil and
lay on entire cementing area without pulling or wrinkling.

|
Press on rear panel foil at
edge of licence plate well using felt pen.
|
|
Press on rear panel foil
uniformly outwards using plastic putty.
Pull off protective foil
from rear panel foil.
|
|
While heating continuously
to between 40 and 50 °C (104 - 122 °F), cement foil into radii of licence
plate well using thumbs.

|
Press on foil first on
slanted, then on flat surface of licence plate well using felt.
Brush out air bubbles
towards lock and square holes.

|
Fold over overlap of rear
panel foil at left and right tailgate sides.
|
|
Check foil for air bubbles -
if necessary, prick with pin and press out air towards hole.
Install lock cylinder of
tailgate, handle of tailgate and licence plate.
