CAR LEVEL CONTROL, PRESSURE LINE, FILLER VALVE

Filler Valve, Replace

Slightly turn back rear right luggage compartment floor covering.

Remove protective cap from filler valve.

On Vehicles up to Model Year '86:

Unscrew filler valve fastening nut from vehicle underbody.

Raise vehicle.

Remove filler valve from vehicle underbody.

Unscrew union nut from filler valve.

Cut off pressure lines from connecting parts behind metal sleeves and remove union nut.

Unscrew connecting parts from new filler valve and place on pressure lines.

On Vehicles as of Model Year '86:

Lever sleeve from filler valve.

Press filler valve down out of vehicle underbody.

Raise vehicle.

Remove pressure lines.

On Vehicles up to Model Year '86:

Insert pressure lines in filler valve and tighten union nuts - 3 Nm/2.2 lbf. ft.

Inflate system to approx. 600 to 800 kPa (6 to 8 bar)/ (87 to 116 psi) and check connections for leaks.

Subsequently reduce pressure to 80 kPa (0.8 bar)/11.6 psi.

Insert filler valve in vehicle underbody.

Lower vehicle.

Tighten fastening nut on filler valve - 3 Nm/2.2 lbf. ft.

Install luggage compartment floor covering.

On Vehicles as of Model Year '86:

Place pressure line onto filler valve.

Insert filler valve into vehicle underbody until it catches.

Lower vehicle.

Mount sleeve on filler valve.

Mount luggage compartment floor covering.

Inflate system to approx. 600 to 800 kPa (6 to 8 bar)/ (87 to 116 psi) and check connections for leaks.

Subsequently reduce pressure to 80 kPa (0.8 bar)/11.6 psi.
