Rear springs for trailer operation are to be replaced by standard ones. > < Filler Valve, Replace

Pressure Line from Filler Valve to Shock Absorber, Replace

 

Raise vehicle.

 

Remove relevant pressure line from filler valve.

Remove pressure line from retaining clips along wheel housing and vehicle underbody.

 

(Illus. B 9812 shows mounting up to MY '86).

Remove pressure line from shock absorber.

 

(Illus. B 9813 shows mounting up to MY '86).

Cut pressure line to size.

Place connecting parts - union nut, metal sleeve and rubber grommet - on pressure line.

 

Tighten union nut and pressure line to shock absorber - 3 Nm/ 2.2 lbf. ft.

 

On Vehicles as of Model Year '86:

 

Connect pressure line to shock absorber.

 

Insert pressure line in retaining clips on wheel housing and vehicle underbody.

Insert pressure line in filler valve and tighten union nut - 3 Nm/ 2.2 ft lbf.

 

On Vehicles as of Model Year '86

Connect pressure line to filler valve.

 

Lower vehicle.

Inflate system to 800 kPa (8 bar)/116 psi and check connections for leaks.

 

Subsequently reduce pressure to 80 kPa (0.8 bar)/11.6 psi.
