Replace Front Brake Hose - Astra H Brake Maintenance Guide

BRAKE HOSES, BRAKE LINES

 

Brake Hose, Front, Replace

 

Screw blind screw cap, commercially available, on to brake fluid reservoir.

 

Note: Fluid level should be on mark "MAX" to avoid "after-flow".

 

Raise vehicle.

Left Side

 

Remove brake line from brake hose support bracket.

Unbolt support bracket with brake hose from wheel housing bracket.

Unscrew hollow bolt from brake caliper and remove seal rings and brake pressure hose.

On vehicles with Check Control, remove sensor cable and retaining clips from brake hose.

 

 

Right Side

 

Unscrew brake line from brake hose.

 

Remove locking plate. Remove hose from bracket.

 

On vehicles with Check Control, remove retaining clips from brake hose.

 

Unscrew hollow bolt from brake caliper and remove seal rings and brake hose.

Object Number: 2374765 Size: DEFAULT

 

 

Attach new brake hose to brake caliper with new seal rings and hollow bolt. Tighten hollow bolt - observe prescribed torque of 40 Nm/29.5 lbf. ft.

Ensure correct installation position (arrow).

 

Bolt left brake hose and support bracket to wheel housing bracket - observe prescribed torque of 8 Nm/5.9 lbf. ft.

Insert brake line and tighten union nut - observe prescribed torque of 11 Nm/8.11 lbf. ft.

Insert right brake hose into bracket on frame side member note flattened surfaces.

Insert locking plate and connect brake line to brake hose prescribed torque 11 Nm/8.11 lbf. ft. On vehicles with Check Control, attach retaining clips and sensor cable to brake hose.

 

Lower vehicle.

 

Remove blind screw cap and bleed brake system.

Check brake system for leaks.
