Wheel Brake Cylinder, Overhaul (Wheel Brake Cylinder Removed)

Remove dust caps from wheel brake cylinder housing using screwdriver and remove all internal parts.

Clean wheel brake cylinder with alcohol or brake fluid. Do not use any other fluids.

Check all parts for wear.

If required, polish cylinder bore with emery cloth.

If scoring is still present afterwards, replace wheel brake cylinder.

Assemble wheel brake cylinder.

Thinly coat new rubber parts - except dust caps - and cylinder wall with Brake Cylinder Paste 19 70 505 (90 295 751) and mount in correct sequence as shown in illus. A 888.

Install dust caps and check piston for free movement.
