Brake Disc, Front, Check for Runout

 

Position transmission in "neutral".

Raise vehicle.

Remove front wheel.

Mark position of front wheel relative to hub.

 

Fasten brake disc to wheel hub with two wheel bolts.

 

Fasten Dial Gauge KM-572 to brake caliper as shown in illustration.

Set gauge probe tip approx. 10 mm/0.4 in. from outer edge of brake disc, perpendicular to disc and under slight pre-load.

 

Permissible lateral runout = max. 0.1 mm/0.004 in.

 

If lateral runout exceeds that permitted, ensure there is no dirt between disc and hub and that contact surfaces are smooth and free from burrs.

Remove dial gauge.

Remove wheel bolts.

Mount front wheel and tighten wheel bolts to 90 Nm/66.4 lbf. ft.

Lower vehicle.
