Subject:               Slideway on ATE Brake Caliper

 

Vehicles:             All Kadett-E/Astra/Belmont and Vectra/Cavalier Vehicles with ATE Brake Caliper and Slideway

 

Condition:            During brake pad changes, uneven brake pad wear has been repeatedly determined, the outer brake pads being worn away while the inner pads are still O.K.

 

Cause:                 Brake dust deposits and partial corrosion on brake caliper slideways.

 

 

Remedy:

 

On all Kadett-E/Astra/Belmont and Vectra/Cavalier vehicles with ATE brake calipers and slideways, not bolt guides, as well as brake pad retaining pins, in addition clean the slideways - arrows - with a soft metal wire brush and then thinly coat with an anti-squeak agent before installing the brake pads, within the framework of brake pad replacement.
