ADJUSTING OPERATIONS

Brakes, Adjust Completely

Service Brake, Adjust

Disc Brakes:

Disc brake pads do not have to be adjusted, since this is done automatically by pistons in the brake caliper.

Drum Brakes:

Subsequent adjustment of the rear wheel brake is only necessary after a brake repair or other operations which include disassembly of the brake.

Adjustment unit must be turned until completely tight.

The pinion must not lock firmly at end of adjustment unit.

Apply foot brake several times - at least 15 times, until jumping of adjusting lever on adjusting pinion is no longer audible.

Note: When brake pedal is operated, adjustment pinion (A) is actuated by adjustment lever (B) and turns adjustment unit outwards. The brake shoes are thus adjusted to minimum clearance from the drum hub.
