Fuel Injection Quantity, Check and Adjust

Conditions:

Float chamber must be at normal level during measurement, i.e. fuel must flow.

Injection must begin immediately throttle valve is actuated.

Use carburettor checking equipment.

Turn cam plate (4) as shown in illustration D 0962 and hold in a position in which the adjusting screw (3) does not rest on it. Open and close throttle valve fully and evenly 10 times (approx. 1 sec./stroke). Pause for approximately 3 seconds between each stroke.

Divide fuel quantity by 10 and compare with nominal value given in Technical Data.

If the value measured deviates from the nominal value, the acceleration pump must be checked. Defective parts must be replaced.

Subsequently correct fuel injection quantity by loosening the attachment screw (1) and turning the cam plate (2).

In direction + : Injection quantity greater

In direction - : Injection quantity less

Note: On vehicles with automatic transmission, before taking measurements turn throttle valve dashpot upwards.
