Trouble-Shooting Chart (32 TL Carburettor)

Requirements for the use of this chart are:

Engine functions without problems (timing, valves etc.)

Ignition system and adjustment without problems

Intake system without leaks

Exhaust system without problems

Correct control of intake air pre-heating

Clean air filter

Fuel pressure to carburettor

Complaint

Cold start (starting)

Warming up (stalling after cold starting)

Cold idle speed too high/too low

Cold driving characteristics/transition (pick-up poor, bucking)

Warm start (starting time over 5 s)

Idle speed (uneven, too high, too slow)

Idle speed or CO content too high (cannot be adjusted)

Transition when accelerating (bucking, flat spot in acceleration)

Backfiring during engine braking

Performance (too low, missing at full load)

Fuel consumption too high

Cause

Remedy

*

Operating error

Start as instructed

*

*

Idle cut-off valve, if installed, does not open

Check voltage supply. replace if necessary

*

Choke valve does not close (choke cable does not move freely)

Adjust so that it moves freely

*

*

*

*

*

Cam plate position or throttle valve gap incorrect

Adjust fast idle speed

*

*

*

Choke cable incorrect/choke valve does not open (sticks)

Adjust so that it moves freely

*
