Radiator, Remove and Install > < TECHNICAL DATA Radiator cap

Cooling System, Fill and Bleed - only DOHC Engine

 

Note:         Radiator and heater core are made of aluminium.

To prevent corrosion, use only antifreeze with corrosion protection (Cat. No. 14 40 681-90 019 368).

 

Remove Allen screw from thermostat housing.

Fill up reservoir with coolant till it runs out at bleeder opening free of bubbles.

Close off bleeder opening with Allen screw.

Fill up reservoir with coolant to "Kalt/Cold" mark in order to fill expansion tank.

Check cooling system for leaks.

See appropriate operation in this group.

 

Note: After closing cooling system run engine warm until thermostat opens (coolant approx. 90 °C/194 °F).

 

Allow engine to cool, check coolant level again and if necessary fill up reservoir to "Kalt/Cold" mark.
