Connecting Rod Bearing, Replace (16 DA, 17 D)
Remove
oil pan.
See
operation "Oil Pan Gasket, Replace," in this group.
Unbolt
connecting rod bearing caps from cylinders located at "BDC". Remove
bearing shells.
Clean
connecting rod bearing journals.
Lubricate
new bearing shell halves thoroughly with oil.
Insert
into connecting rods and bearing caps.
Mount
bearing caps.
Tighten
connecting rod bolts.
Observe
prescribed torque.
Turn
crankshaft and replace other connecting rod bearing halves in the same way.
Install
oil pan.
