Camshaft Housing, Replace

Remove camshaft housing.

See operation "Cylinder Head, Remove and Install".

Place camshaft housing on two wooden blocks and remove camshaft housing cover.

Unbolt camshaft sprocket.

When doing this, counterhold camshaft using a flat spanner on flat area between intake and exhaust cams of Cylinder 4.

Unbolt vacuum pump from camshaft housing.

Loosen camshaft check plate and guide camshaft out of housing.

Carefully guide camshaft with check plate into new camshaft housing.

Fasten check plate.

Mount shaft seal ring using KM - 422.

Mount camshaft sprocket and slightly tighten fastening bolt.

Attention:

Do not fully tighten bolt: this is done after adjusting toothed belt tension and valve timing.

Install camshaft housing.

Before positioning camshaft housing, ensure that centring sleeves are installed in cylinder block.

Check and adjust toothed belt tension.

Tighten camshaft gear fastening bolt.
