Idle Speed, Check and Adjust
The
engine speed is read at the V-belt with the engine at operating temperature
using a photo-electric cell type tachometer.
A
1 to 2 cm/0.4 to 0.8" wide piece of aluminium foil should be attached to
the front collar of the crankshaft pulley.
Start
engine and check speed with tachometer.
The
engine speed must be between 780 and 840 min-1
(on
16 DA, 17 D between 820 and 880 min-1)
