Move
dial gauge with rail approx. 10 mm/0.4 in. towards tip of cam. When doing
this, secure gauge pin. See illus. C 5167.
Using
a flat 22 mm/0.87 in. spanner, turn the camshaft clockwise until foot of dial
gauge has lifted 0.50 mm/0.020 in. to 0.60 mm/0.024 in.

ideal value: 0.55 mm/0.22 in.
Hold
the camshaft in this position and tighten camshaft gear.
Torque
- 75 Nm/55.32 Ibf. ft. + 60 to 65°.
When
doing this, counterfoil using KM - 468, to prevent it turning with respect to
camshaft.
Attention:
Always
use new screw on camshaft gear.
Important:
After
tightening camshaft gear, check valve timing again.
After
adjusting value timing, check adjustment of distributor injection pump and
correct if necessary. See corresponding operation in these Service Instructions.
