Measure V-belt tension using Belt Tension Gauge KM-128-A.

Use halfway point between two V-belt pulleys as test surface if possible.

Place tester on V-belt in such a way that guides support it.

Press lever "A" until pin touches V-belt and a humming tone can be heard.

Read off value on scale of tester and multiply by 100 (10) - this gives the V-belt tension in N (Kp).

See Technical Data (at the end of this group) for prescribed V-belt tension.

When installing new V-belt, pre-tension to prescribed value.

If tension of V-belt is not within given tolerances, loosen retaining screws on tensioning bar and lower bracket.

Correct value and secure alternator to tensioning bar.

Tighten lower alternator bracket.
