Camshaft Housing Front Seal Ring, Replace (I6 DA/17 D)
Remove toothed belt.
See corresponding operation in this group.
Position piston of Cylinder 1 at "TDC".
Remove vacuum pump.
Loosen fastening bolt from camshaft sprocket.
Counterhold camshaft using flat spanner.
Remove camshaft sprocket.
Punch hole in centre of shaft seal ring using suitable punch.
Screw in self-tapping screw and lever shaft seal ring from seat using pliers.
Coat seal lip of new shaft seal ring with grease.
Push shaft seal ring over camshaft journal until flush with camshaft housing.
Pull shaft seal ring into housing until snugly seated using KM - 422.
Remove tool.
Mount camshaft sprocket and tighten - observe prescribed torque.
Note markings.
Mount toothed belt and tension.
Check valve timing and correct if necessary.
Install vacuum pump.
