Guide Pulley of Toothed Belt, Remove and Install (16 DA, 17 D)

Loosen tensioning bracket on alternator and remove V-belt.

Remove top and lower covering of toothed belt.

Remove cover of clutch housing.

Turn crankshaft in rotational direction of engine until ,"TDC", mark and mark of injection pump coincide.

Remove cover of camshaft housing.

Remove vacuum pump.

Loosen mounting bolts for water pump and turn water pump using Adjusting Wrench KM - 509.

Release tension on toothed belt and remove.

Loosen retaining bolt of camshaft sprocket.

To do this, counterhold camshaft with flat spanner.

Remove deflection pulley.

Mount deflection pulley.

Mount toothed belt and tension.

Check alignment of adjustment markings.

Loosely tighten camshaft gear.

Check and adjust valve timing.

Tighten camshaft gear fully - observe prescribed torque.

Install vacuum pump. Mount cover of camshaft housing and cover of clutch housing.

Mount toothed belt covering.

Mount and tension V-belt.
