Oil Pump, Remove and Install

Remove toothed belt.

See operation "Toothed Belt, Replace".

Remove ignition lead cover and disconnect all spark plug sockets.

Detach hose connections from cylinder head cover. Remove cylinder head cover from cylinder head. Remove both camshaft gears, tension roller with tension roller mounting plate, deflection pulley, rear toothed belt cover and toothed belt drive gear.

Remove oil pan.

See operation "Oil Pan Gasket, Replace".

Remove spacing ring (A) and unbolt oil pump from engine block.

Clean sealing faces on oil pump housing and engine block.

Coat new seal with grease for better adhesion and place on pump housing.

Install pump housing with new sealing ring.

Position pump housing flush to sealing face of the oil pan.

Prescribed torque: 6 Nm (4.4 ft. lbf.)

Coat face of spacer ring (A) thinly with sealing compound, Fluid-D Catalogue No. 15 04 200 (8 983 368) and push onto crankshaft journal.
