Important: The threads of the oxygen sensor are coated with a special grease (lubricant) to prevent seizing.
The special grease consists of liquid graphite and glass beads. The graphite burns off. The glass beads remain between the individual threads and prevent the oxygen sensor seizing.
New oxygen sensors supplied by Parts and Accessoriesare already coated with this special grease. If a sensor is re-used, the threads must be coated with the special grease, Catalogue No. 19 48 602 (5 613 695).
Install
Tighten oxygen sensor to 38 Nm/28 lbf. ft.
