Bosch Distributor Injection Pump, Check Adjustment (16 DA, 17 D)
Remove clutch housing cover.
Turn crankshaft in direction of rotation of engine until notch of "TDC" mark is approx. 5 cm/2 in. before tip of pointer.
Remove central plug.
Insert Measuring Device KM - 226-A with copper seal ring and dial gauge and loosely tighten.
Set dial gauge to "0".
Turn crankshaft further until notch of "TDC" mark and tip of pointer align.
Read off measured value.
If prescribed value is not achieved, correct adjustment.
To do this, remove toothed belt covering.
Loosen bolts on drive gear.
Correct pump adjustment with KM-541.
Re-check adjustment.
Turn crankshaft back approx. 90°. Align "TDC" markings.
Tighten pump gear bolts. Install toothed belt covering.
Remove dial gauge and measuring device. Install central plug with new seal ring.
Install clutch housing cover.
Adjust upper and lower idling speed (Bosch injection pump).
