In order to reduce the number of different variants of control unit in production and service (reduced storage costs), codings are required.
By this means, the number of control units for all variants can be reduced to one unit.
The appropriate characteristic curves of the individual variants (e.g transmission type, air conditioning, octane number, etc.) are preprogrammed in the software of the control unit.
The appropriate characteristic curves can be activated by coding or reassigning the octane number plug (except C 30 SE).
