Before trouble-shooting, check that the correct coding plug has been installed in the relevant vehicle type and is coded to position A. An index of the coding plugs can be found in section 5.2.3.

Ignition ON
· Remove ignition coding plug 4.9 V · Lead interruption from: - Ignition coding plug to control unit Ter. 46 Measure voltage at coding plug · Short circuit to ground of ignition coding plug cable to control unit Ter. 46
· Check resistance at See nominal values above · Ignition coding plug defective coding plug
If nominal values are attained · Control unit defective
Note: If ignition coding plug is at position B, this may be indicated by an increased idle speed or a change in the mixture correction values.
