Induction
Coil Function, Check
To
check induction coil for short to ground, connect ohmmeter to two pin plug
and to distributor housing as shown in illus. B 6219 "2".
Apply
vacuum to vacuum cell.
Ohmmeter
should give an infinite reading over complete vacuum advance range.
If
this is not the case, replace distributor.
To
check induction coil for current flow and for an internal short circuit,
connect ohmmeter to two pin plug as shown in illus.
B
6219 "1".
Nominal
value = 500 to 1500 Ohm.
Replace
distributor if there are any deviations.
