Valves, Remove and Install

Remove cylinder head.

See corresponding operation in this group.

Place cylinder head on two wooden blocks.

Remove exhaust manifold, intake manifold with carburettor and thermostat housing.

Mark valves and remove using Valve Spring Compressor KM-348.

Before installing valves, coat valve stems with engine oil and guide valves into cylinder head valve guides.

Install valve rotator at exhaust valve, steel disc at intake valve, new valve stem seal, valve spring and valve spring washer.

Compress valve springs using Valve Spring Compressor and install keys.

Insert hydraulic valve lash adjuster and pressure pieces.

When installing pressure pieces, ensure that curve is seated on curve (arrows).

Mount intake manifold with carburettor and thermostat housing and exhaust manifold.

Install cylinder head.
