Thermostat, Remove and Install > < Oil Pump, Remove and Install

Oil Pan Gasket, Replace

 

Drain engine oil.

Screw in drain plug again immediately after draining oil.

 

Unbolt front exhaust pipe from exhaust manifold.

 

Unbolt clutch cover plate.

Unbolt oil pan.

Pull gasket from sealing surface and clean sealing surface.

 

Coat seams front and back - arrows - with sealing compound Catalogue No. 15 03 294 (90 001 851). Coat gasket with a little sealing compound to improve adhesion and press to sealing surface.

Install oil pan and bolt into place.

Insert bolts with locking compound 15 03 165 (90 093 736).

 

Bolt on front exhaust pipe - use new seal.

Fill engine oil and check oil level.

13 NB, 16 SV, C 16 LZ, 18 SE, S 18 NV, 20 NE, C 20 NE and 20 SE engines only:

 

Loosen oil intake pipe, and remove together with baffle plate.

Pull off gasket from baffle plate and clean sealing surface.

Mount new gasket onto baffle plate.

Coat gasket at curves - arrows - front and rear, lower and upper using Sealing Compound 15 03 294 - 90 001 871.

Guide oil intake pipe through respective openings in baffle plate and tighten to engine block and to oil pump.

Position oil pan and tighten.

Insert bolts using Locking Compound 15 03 165 (90 093 736).

 

Bolt clutch cover plate in place.

 

Screw on front exhaust pipe - use new gasket.

 

Fill engine oil and check oil level.
