Oil Pump, Remove and Install

12 ST, 13 N, 13 S, 13 SC, 16 N 16 SH, 18 E, C 18 NT and C 18 NE engines only.

Remove toothed belt covering.

Position piston of cylinder 1 at ignition timing.

Loosen fastening bolt for crankshaft pulley.

To do this, engage a gear and apply parking brake. Loosen upper and lower mountings of alternator and remove V-belt.

Loosen water pump, turn and remove toothed belt.

Press toothed belt sprocket from crankshaft using two screwdrivers.

If necessary, pull off gear using KM-647.

Unscrew pump intake tube.

Unbolt pump from engine block.

Place Installer Sleeve KM-417 on crankshaft.

Coat new seal with a little grease to improve adhesion, place on pump housing.

Install and fasten pump.

Remove Installer Sleeve.

Install toothed belt sprocket. Install and tighten toothed belt.

Install and tighten crankshaft pulley.

Install bolt with locking compound 15 03 165 (90 093 736) - see Technical Data for prescribed torque.

Install, tension and tighten V-belt.

Mount toothed belt covering.
