The partially changed values in these tables are being gradually inserted into the Technical Data sections of the Service Instructions.

 

Legend:

 

* Always use new bolts.

 

1)    Tighten in four stages - 25 Nm +60° +60° +60°. On 16D and 16DA, turn a further +45° after 1,000 km/600 miles.

 

2)    Tighten in four stages - 25 Nm +60° +60° +30°. After test run, turn a further 30°.

 

3)    Tighten in four stages - 25 Nm +60° +60° +60°. After test run, turn a further 30°.

 

4)    After test run, turn a further 30 to 40°.

 

5)    Tighten in four stages - 25 Nm +65° +65° +65°. After test run, turn a further 30 to 45°.

 

6)    After 10 minutes, turn a further 30 to 40°

 

7)    Bolt (thread length 15 mm)

Parts No.: 02 865 514 / Catalogue No.: 6 22 412,

tighten to 28 Nm.

 

Bolt (thread length 40 mm)

Parts No.: 90 281 728 / Catalogue No.: 6 22 431,

tighten to 25 Nm +30°. ·

 

8)    Bolt must be re-cut before reusing and screwed in coated with Locking Compound according to note 12.

 

9)    Transversely mounted engines, 60 Nm.

Longitudinally mounted engines, 65 Nm +30 to 45°. *

 

10)  Bolt (thread length 23 mm)

Parts No.: 11 073 353 / Catalogue No.: 20 00 560,

tighten to 55 Nm.

 

Bolt (thread length 30 mm)

Parts No.: 90 299 605 / Catalogue No.: 6 14 938,

tighten to 55 Nm +45 to 60°. ·

 

11)  Insert bolt with grease.

 

12)  Screw in bolt coated with Locking Compound Parts No.: 90 167 347 / Catalogue No.: 15 10 177.
