TC SIGNAL STATUS

Vehicles with AF 22 automatic transmission and TC (Traction Control) System:

 

Ignition OFF

Ignition ON

 

TC case triggered by driver

(vehicle travelling and drive wheels spin

or

jack up vehicle - all four wheels free - engage gear/engage clutch and accelerate to full throttle briefly)

Note:

The parameter remains on "RECEIVED" until the next "ignition OFF/ON" or until the relevant bit in the control unit is reset via the corresponding TECH 1 reset function. See section 5.7.

Engine does not start:  AF 13

 

·   Disconnect selector lever position switch wiring harness plug X 9

·   Ignition ON

·   Measure voltage:

from:      wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. G

to:          ground, Ter. 31

 

 

 

 

 

 

less than 0.1 V

 

 

 

 

 

·   Short circuiit to voltage

from:      wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. G

to:          ignition lock S 1 Ter. 50

·   Ignition lock S 1 defective

·   Fault in engine control unit circuit

 

Anti-theft Warning System

·   Fault in anti-theft warning system circuit (see Checking Procedures from 02/92, or 04/93)

 

·   Ignition lock in start position

 

 

greater than 11 V

·   Short circuit to ground or Circuit interruption

from:      wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. G

to:          ignition lock S 1 Ter. 50

·   Ignition lock S 1 defective

·   Fault in engine control unit circuit

 

Anti-theft Warning System

·   Fault in anti-theft warning system circuit (see Checking Procedures from 02/92, or 04/93)

 

·   Briefly bridge wiring harness plug X 9:

from:      battery +, Ter. 30

to:          wiring harness plug X 46 Ter. E

 

 

Starter pinion meshes briefly

 

 

·   Short circuit to ground or circuit interruption

from:      wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. A

to:          starter M 1 Ter. 50

·   Starter circuit defective.

·   Starter M1 defective.

 

Diesel / Turbodiesel

·   Fault in preheater control circuit

 

 

If nominal values are attained

·   Selector lever position switch S 10/cable incorrectly adjusted or defective

 

Engine does not start: AF 14/20/22

 

·   Disconnect selector lever position switch wiring harness plug X 46

·   Ignition ON

·   Measure voltage:

from:      wiring harness plug X 46 Ter. G

to:          ground, Ter. 31

Reversing lamps

·   Short circuit to ground or circuit interruption

from:      wiring harness plug X 9 Ter. B

to:          reversing lamps E 17 and E 18

·   Circuit interruption

from:      reversing lamps E 17 and E 18

to:          ground, Ter. 31

·   Reversing lamps E 17 and E 18 defective.

 

 

If nominal values are attained

 

·   Selector lever position switch S 10/cable incorrectly adjusted or defective
